Queen's Hotel is considered today as a historic building to be conserved and held for all time as a part of the history of Sri Lanka's Central Province

Originally a grand Kandyan mansion named `Dullewa Walawua’ owned by a Kandyan chieftain, it fell into the control of the British in the 19th century, who later converted it into a mess hall for the Rifle Regiment officers. Interiors with ornate ceilings, wooden floors and stairways and antique furniture maintain the ambience of a bygone era.
